☭ First of May celebrations ☭

Behind the glitter of spectacular distractions, a tendency toward banalisation dominates modern society the world over... Complacent acceptance of the status quo may also co-exist with purely spectacular rebelliousness — dissatisfaction itself becomes a commodity as soon as the economy of abundance develops the capacity to process that particular raw material.

I quit Facebook yesterday. I hope for good. 1 May 2013, traditional international workers' holiday (but not in the UK). I don't mean to suggest that that's newsworthy or anything, nor that I am among the first to think about it, but I am certainly pleased about it. I will probably come back to this subject too. Maybe tomorrow, who knows.
