My Tseven-Layered Cake of Euphoria

It was Belle's friend Maddie's birthday party in North Londres yesterday and we went of course. There was all the good stuff, games, pizza, cupcakes, bracelet-making and Joan Jett musical bumps obviously, but also Maddie's mum baked the most fabulous cake in the world, you had to be there, but if you weren't then you basically totally missed it.

My Tsweater of Euphoria

Belle took this photo of me in my new(-ish) Morrissey Christmas jumper. It's pretty awesome isn't it? Huh, what's that you say? You don't like it? You think it's vulgar? Well, you most likely don't know that my dear auld ma wore her hands out, knitting this sweater night after night from September 'till December just so that I could keep warm this winter. So, tell me, do you feel good now, punk?

House band, part X

Morrissey has joined the house band. Alone of course. And it's raining outside, can you believe it. Shyness is nice he was saying, sort of in the style of Rex Harrison, a cappella, if you can believe that, and shyness can stop you... before he was suddenly overcome by an awesome timidity, and just turned his back on the crowd. The death of a Morris dancer, well it happens a lot round here.

New book jacket for Nina

My friend Nina very kindly asked me if I would do the cover for her forthcoming book Jeunesse Brulée. It's due out in the Spring through a French publisher. The display type is Bassish and clockwise from top left the illustrations are of Nancy Spungen, Nico, Michèle Breton and Peter Doherty. It's still very much a work-in-progress of course and subject to all sorts of tweaks, changes and marketing people. Not least I don't really know what Michèle Breton looks like and there don't seem to be many clues on the unternet. She played one of Jagger's two lovers (the other was played by Anita Pallenberg) in Performance and the only photographs of her seem to date from that period.

Occupy LSX

What is happening with Occupy LSX? I remember that they were supposed to be safe until the new year but that's been and gone.. maybe I should start reading a newspaper again or something.

I've only been down once. Auld friends from City of London Anti-Apartheid Group had been invited to speak in the tent university on 11.11.11 and me and Belle went down and joined them. It was kind of a carnival. Everyone was very nice, Belle made new friends and we had a really great time.

Million-dollar jpegs

"Well, actually, I am a model, you know."

These gauld-plated jpegs come courtesy of Auntie Sam and Uncle Richard. Ask them about it. I'm not sure I can tell the story properly. Very cute though.

Models: Belle, Iris, Redvers.

Today is Ass Wednesday

Introducing Henry Miller
Just as busy as a fizzy sarsparilla
Ain't a showman and he's smarter, operates the Golden Garter
Where the cream of Deadwood City come to dine
And I'm glad to say he's a very good friend of mine
