The new tourists

Belle went to France with her grandmama yesterday, both of them very excited about it. The day before yesterday me and Belle took a rickshaw from the V&A to Lower Regent Street. I've never taken a rickshaw outside of India before. What a thrill it was, exhilarating, especially going downhill. The house is really quiet now of course.

School's out for summer...... what a lot of fun being a tourist in your own town, probably you had to be there to understand truly this wisdom. This was Tuesday night but I've been likesay busy.

Oh look, I haven't posted anything for a couple of days, and I was sposed to post something every day, those are the rules. Mi scusi, I've been like, er, busy, hush-hush stuff that I can't really talk about yet.

Notes from a room, part XIX

Phew! School project finished just in time this morning with at least a couple of minutes to spare. Apparently Buzz Aldrin gets very upset about the whole who-was-first business, so if you know Buzz, and if you see him, please don't mention Belle's project.

Abandon hope all ye who enter here

I sometimes wonder if I'm maybe building a digital mausoleum to myself here.

Mmmmmmmm délicieux!

Forest Hill, near the station. 'The man that works there jerks chicken' says one wag at Shit London.

Forest Hillbillies

Forest Hills has too many hills, and Queen's Boulevard is too wide
— Dee Dee Ramone, End of the Century (2003)

And so yesterday afternoon, after much hard weekend work, to Forest Hill, to Warwick and Fee's for a barbeque, delicious to say the least, restful too and a lot of fun. Mr Lee, second Marquis of Dalby, was there too as well as local celebrities Binker and Bex. Good times and good news for good people. Thanks fellers, thanks mucho mucho! And now back to work..... (of course).

Park life idealised..... ah, dreamy Londres

1/. New work from a local artist, Peckham Rye Park, 1:15pm, Saturday 2 July 2011. It's a sign, but was left unsigned. Brother Simon suggests it's a cigar with testicles. I agree. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, with testicles.

2/. Surrey anal, Burgess Park, 5:30pm, Monday 21 February 2011. As one wag pointed out, why on earth is Surrey outsourcing their anal to Southwark?

3/. Le déjeuner sur l'herbe, Richmond Park, 1pm, Monday 21 June 2010. Anabella has really let herself go.

Drinks with Dan and Marty in Nunhead

But not just drinks though. A spot of supper of course (thanks Marty) plus a group discussion on colour theory. I don't need to read my new Josef Albers book now, I can just look at the pictures and let the colours wash over me like some crazy waterfall of emeaution. And look at Dan who looks just the same as he did 25 years ago, although he does speak a bit more politely to grown-ups these days.

Notes from a room, part XVIII

A work-in-progress. Who can say when or even if it will be finished. All I know is that it was created in the middle of the night a couple of days ago by ballpoint pen and with the help of a small torch, and it would have been very important at the time.
